Hello ASU Family,

EVENTS

USSA and UCSA Congresses at UCLA and UCI

This year's United States Students Association's annual congress will be held on UCLA's campus July 15-18th and the University of California Student Association's congress will be at UCI August 12-15th.

As you may all know, UCSA and USSA hold annual Congresses each year in which each student association picks the issues it will advocate for on behalf of students.  We are pleased to announce that UCLA will be hosting this year's USSA Congress, while UCI will host UCSA Congress.

Each year UCLA's External Vice President's Office sends a delegation to represent our awesome university.  Below are two links that will guide you to an interest page. Please fill out the sheet for whatever congress you are interested in.  We will email out applications to those that stated they were interested.

Afrikan Grad, HEC and Admit Weekend Chair Applications

The Afrikan Student Union is looking for phenomenal leaders to head next school year's Afrikan Graduation, Higher Education Conference, Transfer Admit Weekend, and Freshmen Admit Weekend.  We are looking for dedicated individuals that are willing to take Afrikan Grad, HEC, and the Admit Weekends to an even higher level of excellence than previous years. The application is attached to this email. The due date for the application is August 1, 2010.

Interested in Peer Advising, Tutoring, and Culturally Relevant Education?
Apply for The Afrikan Student Union at UCLA's Students Heightening Academic Performance through Education (SHAPE) PROGRAM!

Please join ASU as we work to increase access to higher education in our community, through our access project: SHAPE!

We are looking for committed and talented staff members and a day-site coordinator(s). The application is attached to this email! Please email asuaccesscoordinator@gmail.com for more information. Hard copies of the application are available outside the SHAPE Cubicle in SAC 106.

Priority Deadline: July 16th, 2010 by 5pm

This year, the Afrikan Black Coalition Conference will be held at UCLA! 

Interested in sitting on committees for this year's Afrikan Black Coalition?

 Committees range from hospitality, workshop coordination to financial and entertainment, plus many more.
